About
The Course Materials Affordability Committee (CMAC) supports efforts across campus in the development and implementation of Open Educational Resources (OER) and low-cost materials strategies. The committee engages with faculty in the adoption, adaption, and creation of OER & low cost resources, and increases awareness of these resources and their benefits across the college.
Goals

- Provide research that demonstrates how OER fosters inclusivity, increased learning, retention, and completion
- Compile a list of course sections using OER, no-cost and low-cost resources to support faculty options and collaboration
- Create a process for faculty to self-designate their courses as no-cost in the course schedule
- Collaborate with the Highline Bookstore, Accessibility and Print Shop to build a sustainable process for access to OER, no-cost and low-cost across campus.
- Develop training and support for faculty in the adoption, adaptation, and creation of OER for their courses
